New Armor & Weapons for Rifts - Wellington Industries:
Melee:
- WI-CS-1 "Chain Sword" Close Combat System (Kitsune):
- With the popularity of the Chain Saw as a weapon among Juicers, Wellington
Industries decided to expand into a whole new line of chain saw type weapons.
Like a chain saw, individual teeth whirl around the blade. Unlike Wellington
previous "Chain Saw" designs, the "Teeth" are made from a high density alloy
instead of recycled armor materials which makes for a more durable blade. This
weapon is already becoming extremely popular with Juicers and Crazies. As well,
some supernatural creatures seem to have adopted the weapon. Being with strengths
above PS 20 (or any supernatural strength) can use the sword with no penalties.
Weaker wielders will be at -2 to strike and -4 to parry. Power is provided by a
standard E-Clip
Weight: 12 lbs (5.44 kg)
Mega Damage: 3D6
Maximum Effective Range: Hand to Hand
Payload: The E-Clip powers the chain sword for ninety minutes of continuous use. Every time the chain sword is activated, it drains a minimum of one minute's worth of energy, even if used for less than a minute.
Cost: 30,000 credits
- Lighter version of the chain sword and as a result, easier to use. It works
by the same principles as the Chain Sword and individual teeth whirl around the
blade at incredible velocities. The "Teeth" are made from a high density alloy
instead of recycled armor materials which makes for a more durable blade. Even
though lighter than the "Chain Sword", the kickback of the weapon means that it
still requires a lot of strength to wield. Being with strengths above PS 18 (or
any supernatural strength) can use the sword with no penalties. Weaker wielders
will be at -1 to strike and -3 to parry. Power is provided by a standard E- Clip
Weight: 8 lbs (3.63 kg)
Mega Damage: 2D6
Maximum Effective Range: Hand to Hand
Payload: The E-Clip powers the chain sword for one hundred and twenty minutes of continuous use. Every time the chain sword is activated, it drains a minimum of one minute's worth of energy, even if used for less than a minute.
Cost: 25,000 credits
- Heavier version of the standard chain swords which inflicts even greater damage.
It works by the same principles as the Chain Sword and individual teeth whirl
around the blade at incredible velocities. The "Teeth" are made from a high density
alloy instead of recycled armor materials which makes for a more durable blade. The
weapon has even greater kick than the standard chain sword and is even heavier.
Still it is better balanced than the Wellington Chainsaw. Being with strengths
above PS 22 (or any supernatural strength) can use the sword with no penalties.
Weaker wielders will be at -3 to strike and -5 to parry. Power is provided by a
standard E-Clip
Weight: 24 lbs (10.88 kg)
Mega Damage: 5D6
Maximum Effective Range: Hand to Hand
Payload: The E-Clip powers the chain sword for sixty minutes of continuous use. Every time the chain sword is activated, it drains a minimum of one minute's worth of energy, even if used for less than a minute.
Cost: 45,000 credits
- WI-CC-22 .22 Caliber Mini-Machine Pistol (Kitsune):
- While .22 Caliber ammunition is relatively weak, weapons firing
if have virtually no recoil and can be fired in burst with little climb.
Due to this, many consider the caliber to ideal for crowd control
situations. With the introduction of Wellington explosive ammunition,
the .22 caliber became more respectable. As a result, Wellington
decided to develop an extremely high capacity weapon firing .22
ammunition. They used the old Calico weapon as a basis although the new
Wellington weapon is quite a bit smaller. Recently, wizards have found
the weapon to be extremely effect when the bullets are enchanted with
the spell "Enchant Weapon: Minor" with bursts being extremely destructive.
Weight: 2.8 lbs (1.3 kg)
Cartridge: .22 Long Rifle
Damage: Standard Ammunition: 1D6 S.D.C. single shot, 2D6 S.D.C. for 4 round burst, 5D6 S.D.C. for 10 round burst, and 1D6x10 S.D.C. for 30 round burst, Explosive Ammunition: 3D6 S.D.C. single shot, 6D6 S.D.C. for 4 round burst, 1D6x10+20 S.D.C. for 10 round burst, and 1 M.D.C. for 30 round burst, Enchanted Ammunition: 2D6 M.D.C. single shot, 4D6 M.D.C. for 4 round burst, 1D6x10 M.D.C. for 10 round burst, and 2D6x10 M.D.C. for 30 round burst (Use machine gun rules)
Rate of Fire: Single Shot and Extended Bursts (Use Machine Gun burst rules).
Maximum Effective Range: 120 feet (36.6 meters)
Payload: 240 round magazines
Black Market Cost: 1,200 for pistol, 100 credits for a box of 50 explosive rounds.
- This is a new compact pistol design that been produced by Wellington
Industries. Instead of using normal gunpowder, the weapon uses a powerful
liquid propellant to drive the bullets. This propellant has about four
times the forces of nitro-cellulose gunpowder. Because of the extreme recoil
of propellant, the gun barrel is specially constructed to reduce recoil.
Even so, the weapon has a large amount of recoil and requires a strength
of 18 or the weapon has -2 to strike on aimed shots and -4 for bursts.
The weapon can be fired in single shot and three round bursts. The weapon
has a shorter range than the machine pistol but is concealable.
The weapon can use special explosive rounds to inflict greater damage as well as more conventional rounds. The explosive rounds are becoming quite popular because it can inflict damage on M.D.C. materials.
Weight: 2.5 lbs (1.1 kg)
Cartridge: 10 mm Liquid propellant
Damage: Standard Ammunition: 2D6x10 S.D.C. single shot and 1D4 M.D.C. three round burst. Explosive Ammunition: 1D4 M.D.C. single shot, 3D4 M.D.C. three round burst.
Rate of Fire: Single Shot and Three Round Burst
Maximum Effective Range: 250 feet (76.2 meters)
Payload: 10 or 20 round magazines (Liquid propellant in magazine)
Black Market Cost: 5,300 for pistol, 250 for a box of 50 standard rounds and 500 for a box of 50 Explosive rounds (Liquid propellant is packaged with rounds)
- This is a new machine pistol design that been produced by Wellington
Even so, the weapon has a large amount of recoil and requires a strength
of 15 or the weapon has -1 to strike on aimed shots and -3 for bursts.
The weapon can be fired in single shot, three round bursts, and longer
bursts. Weapon has a much longer range than the compact version.
The weapon can use special explosive rounds to inflict greater damage as well as more conventional rounds. The explosive rounds are becoming quite popular because it can inflict damage on M.D.C. materials.
Weight: 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg)
Cartridge: 10 mm Liquid propellant
Damage: Standard Ammunition: 2D6x10 S.D.C. single shot, 1D4 M.D.C. three round burst, as per burst for other bursts. Explosive Ammunition: 1D4 M.D.C. single shot, 3D4 M.D.C. three round burst, as per burst for other bursts.
Rate of Fire: Single Shot, Three Round Burst, and Extended Bursts (Use Standard burst rules).
Maximum Effective Range: 1000 feet (304.8 meters)
Payload: 10, 20, or 30 round magazines (Liquid propellant in magazine)
Black Market Cost: 5,800 for pistol, 250 for a box of 50 standard rounds and 500 for a box of 50 Explosive rounds (Liquid propellant is packaged with rounds)
- WI-ASG-12G Automatic Assault 12 Gauge Shotgun (Kitsune):
- Similar to the pre-Rifts AA-12 Shotgun, this shotgun is fully automatic
unlike the WI-SF-12G shotgun. The model is made using high strength composites
and alloys. Both standard and special Wellington ammunition is available. The
handgrip is similar to the M-16 rifle but unlike the semi-automatic design,
the stock cannot fold. Weapon also is not available with the short barrel but
instead is available only with an 18 inch or 14 inch barrel. Weapon also uses
a much larger magazine and is available with an 8 round standard magazine and
20 round and 32 round drum magazines.
Weight: 11.90 lbs (5.4 kg) [18 inch barrel], 11.24 lbs (5.1 kg) [14 inch Barrel].
Cartridge: 12 Gauge Shotgun
Damage: By Cartridge Type (Standard 12 Gauge Slug inflicts 7D6 S.D.C. / M.D.C. A.P. Rounds inflict 4D6)

- Similar to many pre-Rifts shotguns, this new shotgun produced by Wellington
Industries is available is several different models with most being of
different barrel lengths. Unlike many shotguns based on pre-rifts designs,
it is constructed from high strength alloys and composites. Both standard
and special Wellington ammunition is available. In all models, the magazine
is the tube under the barrel of the shotgun. The shotguns can carry an
additional round in the chamber. The standard model features an M-16 style
handgrip with a collapsible stock. Barrel length is 18 inch with seven
round magazine or 14 inch with four round magazine. There is a “Short”
model which uses a pistol style handgrip which is ideal for concealment.
It is available with a 14 inch barrel with a four round magazine or 12.5
inch barrel with a three round magazine. There is an under rifle model
which can be mounted under most combat rifles similar to the Master Key
shotgun. It is available with a 12.5 inch barrel with a three round magazine.
Weight: Standard Model: 8.0 lbs (3.6 kg) [18 inch barrel], 7.25 lbs (3.3 kg) [14 inch Barrel], Short Pistol Model: 7.0 lbs (3.2 kg) [14 inch Barrel], 6.5 lbs (2.9 kg) [12.5 inch Barrel], Under Rifle Model: 6.25 lbs (2.8 kg)

Black Market Cost: 2500 Credits (All Models), shotgun shells cost extra.
- WI-25 Four Tube Mini-Missile Launchers (Kitsune):
- This is a new mini-missile launcher design that has been produced by
Wellington Industries. It has four tubes than can be fired individually
or all four may be fired at the same time. The weapon is reusable and is
very useful against fairly heavy armor. It is likely that several other
weapon companies will soon begin producing virtually identical weapon systems.
Weight: 30 lbs (13.6 kg) without missiles or 38 lbs (17 kg) with missiles. Each extra missile weighs approximately an additional 2 lbs (0.91 kg)
Mega Damage: Varies by mini-missile type (See revised bomb and missile tables for details.)
Rate of Fire: Single shot or all four mini-missiles only
Maximum Effective Range: Varies by mini-missile type (See revised bomb and missile tables for details.)
Payload: 4, takes 15 seconds (one melee) to reload launcher
Black Market Cost: The launcher costs 32,000 credits, missiles cost extra
- This launcher is a single shot hand held short range missile launcher.
As the name implies, the launcher is designed for ground troops to have
a weapon that they can use against aircraft. This missile launcher fills
much the same role as the Contemporary Stinger missile launcher does. Unlike
the WI-40M, the launcher is reusable. The launcher is heavy and must be
operated from a platform or the user must have a strength of 18 or higher.
Many other weapon companies manufacture virtually identical missile launchers.
Note: SAM style missiles are missiles that sacrifice payload for higher speeds, see Chris Curtis' modified missile table for specifics
Weight: 20 lbs (9.1 kg) without missile or 60 lbs (27.2 kg) with missile. Each extra missile weighs an additional 40 lbs (18.2 kg)
Mega Damage: Varies by short missile type (See revised bomb and missile tables for details - SAM style missiles normally)
Rate of Fire: Single Shot only
Maximum Effective Range: Varies by short missile type (See revised bomb and missile tables for details - SAM style missiles normally)
Payload: 1, takes 30 seconds (2 melees) to reload launcher
Black Market Cost: The launcher costs 20,000 credits, missiles cost extra
- Derived from the pre-Rifts claymore mine, this weapon is extremely
effective. It is slightly larger than the original Claymore mine and has
1000 super dense alloy spheres instead of steel balls and is backed by
two pounds (0.9 kg) of powerful advanced explosive instead of the original
C4 plastic explosive. The “Super Claymore” operates in a similar fashion
to the original mine and creates a fan of projectiles for a 328 foot (100
meter) cone with a 60 degree arc of danger. Unlike the original Claymore,
the Wellington product can be detonated by remote control. The front of
the mine is labeled "FRONT" with "TOWARDS ENEMY" like the original Claymore
mine.
Weight: 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg)
Mega Damage: Front 60-degree horizontal Cone: 2D6x10 MD for a 164 foot (50 meter) range, 1D4x10 MD for a 328 foot (100 meter) range, and 2D6 MD for a 820 foot (250 meter) range. Rear and Sides: 4D6 MD for a 66 foot (20 meter) range and 2D6 MD for a 328 foot (100 meter) range.
Rate of Fire: Single use only.
Maximum Effective Range: 820 feet (250 meters)
Payload: One Use
Black Market Cost: 5000 Credits
- The WI-GL4 Revolving Grenade Launcher is a quite popular weapon but
is quite heavy so not popular with some personnel. As a result, a lighter
weight weapon was developed. The main weakness is that the weapon has a
payload of eight rounds instead of twenty-four. It has a slightly longer
barrel for greater range as well. The weapon pops open and can be reloaded
with a special speed loader.
Weight: 12.5 lbs (5.7 kg)
Mega Damage: 4D6 for Fragmentation with a blast area of 12 feet (3 m). 1D4x10 for Armor Piercing with a blast area of 3 feet. The launcher can also fire smoke, illumination, and chemical rounds.
Rate of Fire: Single Shot only (Equal to hand to hand attacks)
Maximum Effective Range: 1,321 feet (400 meters)
Payload: 8, Reloads in two attacks using a speed loader
Black Market Cost: The launcher costs 40,000 credits, grenades cost extra
- Several rifles on Rifts Earth have built in Grenade launchers but other
that the ancient pre-rifts M-203 and similar weapons, no grenade launchers
have been designed to be mounted underneath the barrel of a rifle. The
M-203 only has one shot and is very underpowered. Wellington Industries
saw that they weapon could sell quite well so they created the WI-GL403.
This is designed to fit on virtually any rifle with the appropriate fittings
but in some cases the rifle will need to be modified slightly
Weight: 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg)
Mega Damage: 4D6 for Fragmentation with a blast area of 12 feet (3 m). 1D4x10 for Armor Piercing with a blast area of 3 feet. The launcher can also fire smoke, illumination, and chemical rounds.
Rate of Fire: Single Shot only (Equal to hand to hand attacks)
Maximum Effective Range: 1000 feet (305 meters)
Payload: 4, takes 15 seconds (one melee) to reload launcher
Black Market Cost: The launcher costs 25,000 credits, grenades cost extra
- WI-4E Explosive Shotgun Shells (Kitsune):
- Armor Piercing: 12 gauge: 4D6 to 2 ft (0.6 m) radius, 20 gauge: 4D4 to 2 ft (0.6 m) radius Costs: 12 gauge: 200 credits, 20 gauge: 150 credits
- Fragmentation: 12 gauge: 2D6 to 20 ft (6 m) radius, 20 gauge: 2D4 to 16 ft (4.8 m) radius Costs: 12 gauge: 160 credits, 20 gauge: 120 credits
- High Explosive: 12 gauge: 3D6 to 8 ft (2.4 m) radius, 20 gauge: 2D4 to 6 ft (1.8 m) radius Costs: 12 gauge: 120 credits, 20 gauge: 90 credits
- Available in 20 Gauge and 12 Gauge. Turns a shotgun shell into a mini-grenade
and turns a standard shotgun into an effective M.D.C. weapon.
