Dawn’s Light (Enchanted Morning Star):

There are a handful of enchanted weapons which appear to be made from crystal with some of the most famous having been made by an alchemist named Eldron. There are however a handful made by other alchemists, many whom history has been lost in the shadows of time. The morning star known as “Dawn’s Light” is one of these. It is believed to be ancient, from around the time of the Great Elven Kingdom or even before.

There are numerous stories about this weapon, many being hundreds of years old themselves. It has been carried by a number of heroes of light including several paladins of the Church of Light and Dark. Even so, the weapon is not generally considered to be specifically tied to the church. Still, if the weapon were to fall into the hands of somebody considered a monster, there would be those of the church who would fight to get it back.

Dawn’s Light is an incredibly beautiful magic weapon even though most people consider morning stars to be primarily weapons of butchery. The head of the weapon appears to be made from some type of incredibly delicate golden crystal, with multiple long spikes, although as one might expect, the weapon is indestructible. The head of the weapon appears to glow with a light equal to that of several candles and can be used as a light source. The handle appears to be made from polished silver which never seems to tarnish. The handle is grooved so that a wielder will not find the weapon slipping in combat.

As with many enchanted weapon, the morning star is incredibly balanced, equal to some of the finest weapons made by Dwarven weapon makers. Of course few scholars who have studied this weapon believe that it was actually made by the Dwarves. Most believe that the weapon was made by magic.

As far as enchantments, besides being indestructible and glowing with an internal light, the weapon does more damage than one might expect for a normal morning star. In addition, when used against evil, the weapon is especially effective. Works against all evil, not just demons and such creatures.

Weight: 2.5 lbs (1.0 kg).    Length: 2.75 feet (0.8 meters).

Damage: 3D6+4 - The morning star also inflicts double damage to targets who are of evil alignment (of Miscreant, Aberrant or Diabolic alignment.)

Enchantments:

Cost: Would likely sell between 100,000 and 120,000 gold. Enchanted weapon with similar enchantments would cost around 55,000 gold.
