Blood Wax (Miscellaneous Magic Items):

This magic item is relatively common and is available from most Alchemists. The wax is extremely common in the Western Empire and is often used by nobles and merchants who do not have a wizard as a retainer. It performs a similar function to the spell "Mystic Alarm" but can be used my anyone. It is used to seal important documents to let the person who sealed know if the letter has been tampered with. The person sealing the letter simply puts a drop of blood in the wax when they seal the item with it. If the seal is broken, the person who sealed the letter will have a buzzing in their head even if they are thousands of miles away or are even in another dimension. One stick of wax is good for five applications and the alarm has a duration of six years.
