Weatherby Mark V Bolt Action Rifle [Bolt Action Rifle]:
Weatherby makes some of the finest bolt action rifles in existance. The Mark V is available in a wide variety of powerful calibers influding the .460 Weatherby Magnum. All Weatherby Mark V Rifles are drilled and tapped for scope. The Magazine of the Rifle is internal. These are standard Weatherby rifles. Weatherby will also customize rifles at purchasers request. These customizations are not inexpensive but then again shooting a Weatherby .460 is not inexpensive at about four dollars a round.
The Mark V Deluxe is likely the most famous of the Weatherby rifles and is what most people think about when the name Weatherby is said. The stocks of the rifle are walnut, rosewood, and maplewood. The stocks are ingraved with Fineline diamond point checkering. The Mark V Deluxe is available in Weatherby Magnum cartridges from .257, .270, 7mm, .300, .340, .378, .416, and .460. In most calibers, the Rifles has a three round magazine with one possible in the chamber. On the .378, .416 and .460 caliber versions, the rifle only has a two round magazine with one in the chamber.
The Mark V Synthetic is a more affordable version of the Weatherby Mark V rifle. The Synthetic features a lightweight injection-molded synthetic stock and bead blast matte blued barrel. Where a Wark V Deluxe can run from $1,600 to $2,400, the Synthetic runs from $830 to $1,000 depending on caliber. The Synthetic is available in Weatherby Magnum cartridges from .257, .270, 7mm, .300, .340, 30-378, and .338-378. It is also available in a variety of non Weatherby Magnum Cartridges. These are 7 mm STW, 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum, and .375 H&H Magnum. The rifle has a 3 round magazine with an additional round in the chamber except for the .30-378 and the .338-378 which have a two round magazine.
The Mark V Accumark is designed as a long range and extremely accurate rifle. The
riflehas a specially-designed stock that is of hand-laminated raised comb Monte Carlosynthetic.
It is a combination of Kevlar, unidirectional fibers and fiberglass. The Rifle also has a
molded-in, CNC-machined aluminum bedding plate to stiffens the receiver area of the rifle. This
is so that when the barreled action is secured to the block it provides a stable and rigid
platform for the action. The Accumark stock has a matte black gel coat finish is accented
with faint grey spider web patterning. The barrel is cold hammer-forged, heavy contour stainless
steel that is free floated and features a special longitudinal fluting system as well as a .705
diameter muzzle with recessed target crown. The flutes are designed to increase barrel surface
area to help dissipate heat and the recessed target crown is concentrically perfect to maintain
pinpoint accuracy. The trigger assembly is factory-tuned and is among the finest in the industry.
Each trigger is fully adjustable at between .008 to .014 and a let-off weight of four pounds. The
Rifle is available in Weatherby Magnum cartridges from .257, .270, 7mm, .300, .30-378, .340, and
.338-378. It is also available in the non Weatherby calibers of 7mm Rem. Magnum, 7mm STW and
.300 Winchester Magnum. The Rifle has a magazine of two rounds in the .30-378 and .338-378
calibers but in all other calibers has a three round magazine.
(In game terms, give the Accumark Rifle a +1 bonus or the equivilent in terms of accuracy)
The Mark V Super Varmint Master is a highly accurate rifle as well but is chambered in smaller calibers. It is mostly designed for the hunting of small game. The weapon shares many of the features of the Accumark. The barrel is heavy contour with a fluted barrel which is cryogenically treated to reduce stress and harden the bore. The barreled Mark V action is fitted to a specially-designed, hand-laminated, raised comb Monte Carlo stock with flatter beavertail forearm for extra stiffness and stability. Like the Accumark, A CNC-machined aluminum bedding block stiffens the receiver area to provide a stable and rigid platform for the action. Black spider webbing adorns the tan stock to blend into various environments. The Rifle also features a factory-tuned, fully adjustable trigger with sear engagement preset at .012 to .015 and a let-off weight of four pounds. The Super Varmint Master is available in .223 Remington, .22-250 Remington, .220 Swift, .243 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington and .308 Winchester. The Rifle has a five round magazine can hold one in the chamber except for the .22-250 Remington which only has a four round magazine. The SVM is also available in a single-shot model. The absence of a cutout in the receiver for the magazine and follower increases rigidity for even greater accuracy potential (The .220 Swift caliber is available only in single shot.)
The Mark V Super Predator Master is very similar to the Super Varmint Master but is generally chambered in higher calibers for larger game like coyote, fox, and bobcat. It features the Mark V action for standard calibers with a cryogenically-treated barrel by Krieger. It has Longitudinal flutes dissipate to heat while an 11-degree target crown helps maintain critical accuracy. The Rifle also features a specially-designed, ultra-lightweight hybrid composite Monte Carlo stock with a distinctive tan with black spiderweb patterning. Like the Varmint Master it has a CNC-machined aluminum bedding block to provides a solid, stable platform for the action. It also has a Pachmayr Decelerator pad which reduces felt recoil. The rifle is available in .223 Remington, .22-250 Remington, .243 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington and .308 Winchester with a five round magazine for all calibers except the .22-250 which has a four round magazine.
The Mark V Dangerous Game Rifle, as the name says, is designed to hunt large and dangerous game. The Rifle features a hand laminated, black composite stock (Kevlar and fiberglass) with a CNC-machined aluminum bedding block which is combined with the Mark V action. The Rifle has bBlack oxide matte finish on all metalwork reduces reflection and glare so that the shooter can conceal himself. An adjustable ramp, shallow gold-filled rear and barrel band hooded front sight with large gold bead provides for immediate sight alignment and target acquisition. As well, a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad reduces felt recoil and rounds out this rifle. The Mark V Dangerous Game Rifle is available in seven of the most popular large game calibers, including the .375 Weatherby Magnum, .378 Weatherby Magnum, .416 Weatherby Magnum, and .460 Weatherby Magnum. The Rifle is also available in .375 H&H, .416 Remington Magnum, and .458 Winchester Magnum. On the .378, .416 and .460 caliber versions, the rifle only has a two round magazine with one in the chamber. All other versions have a three round magazine and can carry an additional round in the chamber.
The Mark V Fibermark was first introduced in 1983 and was the industry's first production rifle with a composite stock. The Fibermark is set on a black hybrid composite stock of Kevlar and unidirectional fiberglass. The Monte Carlo stock is pillar-bedded to reduce torque on the action and improve accuracy. Metalwork is bead blast matte blue and the rifle is available on both Magnum or Standard Mark V actions. Available in Weatherby Magnum cartridges from .257, .270, 7mm, .300, .30-378 and .340.
