Iron Heart Industry Vehicles (Revisions):
All Iron Heart vehicles which are Gasoline powered are in reality Gas Turbine powered. Gas turbine engines make less noise than diesels and can deal with a larger variety of fuels including diesel fuel, kerosene, and even gasoline or alcohol based fuels. This makes it easier for the vehicle to run of the variable fuels on Rifts: Earth. Normally they will run on diesel fuel or kerosene due to being more efficient (Giving better range) and does not produce the explosive vapor of gasoline (tank is less likely to explode.) All early Twenty-First Century combat vehicles are either powered by a diesel engine or gas turbine engines.
Iron Hammer Main Battle Tank:
Statistical Data:
Height: 14 feet (4.9 meters) - Compared to 20 feet (6 meters)
Weapon Systems:
- 200 mm IH-B Smooth Bore Cannon (1): This is the Iron Hammer's
main gun and is much heavier than the cannons on most Post Rifts Tanks.
The cannon has an auto loader system. The cannon has a variety of loads,
including high explosive (HE), high explosive anti-tank (HEAT), armor-piercing
explosive (AP), and armor piercing, sabot-discarding solids (APSD). The
APSD round consists of a metal dart that flies at enormous speeds towards
the target: it is not as fast as a rail gun, but makes up for it with the
greater mass of the slug. Since the cannon is built into a turret, it can
rotate 360-degrees and can aim upwards 30 degrees. The cannon is controlled
by a gunner inside the turret compartment.
Maximum Effective Range: 13,100 feet (4,000 meters) for direct fire with discarding sabot round, 7,400 feet (2250 meters) for direct fire with all other rounds, and indirect fire range of 33,000 feet (6.2 miles / 10,000 meters).
Mega-Damage: High-Explosive (HE): 2D6x10 M.D. with a blast radius of 30 ft (9 m), High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT): 3D6x10 M.D. with a blast radius of 12 ft (3.6 m). Armor Piercing (AP): 2D6x10 M.D. and APSD: 3D6x10 M.D. (optional rule is that cannon gets a critical on a natural 18, 19, or 20 due to its high penetration)
Rate of Fire: A Maximum of two attacks per melee round regardless of the gunner's hand to hand combat numbers.
Payload: The tank can carry up to 50 rounds. The standard distribution is 12 rounds of each type, but that can be altered to suit the mission.
Iron Fist Medium Tank:
Statistical Data:
Height: 10.5 feet (3.2 meters) - Compared to 18 feet (5.5 meters)
Weapon Systems:
- 120 mm IH-B Smooth Bore Cannon Turret (1): This is the Iron
Fist's main gun and is similar to the cannon carried on the Pre-Rifts M1A2
Abrams Main Battle Tank. The cannon has an auto loader system. The cannon
has a variety of loads, including high-explosive (HE). High-explosive anti-tank
(HEAT), armor-piercing explosive (AP). armor piercing sabot-discarding
solids (APSD). The APSD round consist of a metal dart that flies at enormous
speeds towards the target: It is not as fast as a rail gun, but makes up
for it with the greater mass of the slug. Since the gun is situated in
the turret, it can rotate 360 degrees and can aim upwards up to 60 degrees
- allowing it to engage low flying aircraft/creatures. The gun is controlled
by a gunner inside the turret`s compartment.
Maximum Effective Range: 11,500 feet (3,500 meters) for direct fire with discarding sabot round, 6,000 feet (1828 meters) for direct fire with all other rounds, and indirect fire range of 26,250 feet (8,000 meters).
Mega-Damage: High-Explosive (HE): 1D6x10 M.D. with a blast radius of 20 ft (6.1 m). High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT): 2D6x10 M.D. with a blast radius of 10 ft (3 m). AP: 2D4x10 M.D. and APSD: 3D4x10 M.D. (optional rule is that cannon gets a critical on a natural 18, 19, or 20 due to its high penetration)
Rate of Fire: A Maximum of three attacks per melee round regardless of the gunner's hand to hand combat numbers.
Payload: The tank ran carry up to 50 rounds. The standard distribution is 12 rounds of each type, but that can be altered to suit the mission. (For example if the tank is going to be fighting infantry, the usual load would be 30 HE, 10 HEAT, and 10 APSD rounds).
Iron Maiden APC-10:
Statistical Data:
Height: 9.75 feet (3 meters) - Compared to 11 feet (3.3 meters)
Weapon Systems:
- IH-10RJ 30 mm Ramjet Auto Cannon: This is a giant machinegun
that flies cannon-size, ramjet armor penetrators. The IH-10RJ can chew
through the front armor of a tank or a giant robot in a matter of minutes.
When it fires, the ramjet rounds leave a white plume behind that resembles
an energy beam.
Maximum Effective Range: 6,000 feet (1,828 meters)
Mega-Damage: A burst is 20 rounds and inflicts 2D6x10 M.D. A single round does 3D6 M.D.
Rate of Fire: Equal to the gunner's hand to hand attacks; each burst counts as one melee action.
Payload: 800 round drum magazine; that's 40 bursts! The cargo area has up to four additional drums instead of passengers. Reloading is done inside the vehicle and takes two melee rounds (30 seconds) for two crewmen or passengers and six melees (90 seconds) if only one person is involved or the people aren't trained in the reload procedure.
Iron Bolt Missile Vehicle:
Statistical Data:
Height: 14.5 feet (4.4 meters) - Compared to 20 feet (6 meters).
