Samantha always loved the idea of going fast. However, to her, even though a power armor may be slower than a jet fighter, she prefers the idea of them because it makes it feel like she is flying on her own instead of riding in or on a vehicle like a jet fighter or sky cycle gives her the feeling of. Likes the “Smiling Jack” SAMAS power armor because it less bulky than the standard SAMAS power armor and enhances that feeling. Would love to get an opportunity to operate a Flying Titan power armor. Jet packs make her feel a little too vulnerable however even though skilled with them.
Will follow orders of those above her including to fire at targets that are not actively hostile. Does not particularly like such orders however. Kind of realizes that by virtue of who your parents were, she could have been one of them as well. If not given orders, she is likely to leave them alone even if they are D-Bees or practitioners of magic, as long as they are not threatening her. Has no major hatred of either one although would be extremely uncomfortable with one that is extremely powerful such as a dragon.
Even so, does care about the soldiers whom she serves along side. Most of them are also power armor pilots. If she got to know somebody else closely, she would care about them in a similar manner. Doesn’t really feel the same about the slums she came from and the people of the slums. Was mistreated quite a bit in the slums and had few friends. The military was her means of escaping. It also gave her an understanding that humans are not special in how they treated one another and even killed each other.

Appearance:
At only about one pont six meters, Samantha is relatively short. While reasonably strong, cannot be consider muscular. Even so, she is pretty athletic. Has a relatively prominent breast though has little in the way of fat otherwise. Quite pretty, her heritage appears to be mixed although predominantly Caucasian with a slim slightly upturned nose. Her eyes are a dark brown and she has sandy blond hair. Keeps her hair quite short although has tried a variety of different styles. Prefers it short so it does not get in the way of her helmet. Tends to wear just a bit of light makeup.
As a child, she had little more than rags to wear. Never had much interest in fashion as a result. Tends to wear basic jumpsuits and working uniforms. Otherwise, she keeps her uniforms neat and tidy, preferring to look as professional as possible. Tends to be pretty practical in how she dresses and does not know much about style in general.

Background:
Samantha was born in Chi-Town in one of the poorest communities within the fortress city itself. Her early life was barely better than those outside the city in the slums. In fact, one could argue that many within the slums had it better than she did. Growing up, she was quite often hungry and her clothing was little more than rags. Her comparative short stature is likely due to her nutrition when young. It was not that her parents did not care about her but they were barely scraping by and often did not have enough to eat themselves.
Left alone for long periods, Samantha had to learn to fend for herself from a quite early age. Rough and dangerous, she had seen multiple people get killed before she was a teenager. Most of those are at the hands of other humans so she sees the dark side in others. That hardened her and made little scare her. In addition, she had seen friends turn on other friends plenty of times. As a result, she learned not to trust anybody and remained extremely guarded. Even though quite pretty from a young age, never wanted to trade favors with others.
One of her few respites was the Coalition propaganda videos that were almost continuously played. There were large displays mounted all over the city in order so that everybody, even those without entertainment systems themselves, could watch the videos. Did not like the endless speeches by leaders or the portrayals of all of the enemies of the Coalition as horrible and evil. However, she enjoyed the videos of the battles and the soldiers. Not so much for the killing either but she was captivated by the SAMAS power armors.
She dreamed of being a power armor pilot and being able to cruise high in the sky. Somehow, she never found out actually how, some of other kids found out about her dreams. As today, kids can be quite cruel and began to jab at her mockingly, “SAMAS Sam” and suggested that she was foolish for even thinking that she could become a SAMAS pilot.
When she was sixteen, she applied to join the Coalition. Especially for programs such as pilots, the training is long. Unable to read and write at the time, she was given the test verbally. Even so, the tests showed her to be quite intelligent. In addition, she scored quite high in reflex tests. Having watched so many propaganda videos, she knew all the right answers with regard to enemies of the Coalition as well.
Somehow, she was able to get accepted to military training. Being intelligent and having good reflexes only gets one so far however. Along the way, she saw many of the other recruits drop out of the training program. Some found their way to less difficult fields while others were dismissed from service. Other than special forces and commandos, the training program for elite pilots was one of the most difficult in the Coalition military.
Even for Samantha, the training was not easy. Still, while many failed, Samantha was able to complete her training. During training, her preference for flying power armor was evident. Early on, she liked the newer “Smiling Jack” SAMAS over the original SAMAS. Proved able in fighters and other vehicles which she was expected to learn. Had a natural apt for flying at low altitude through terrain including both ruins and hills. While some training was simulation, much was live training as well.
Even though she was training in the use of a flight pack, she never really liked it feeling just too exposed in just body armor. Similarly, while she trained in the Glitter Boy Killer, never really liked that armor either. Always considered the most effective tactic against Glitter Boys to be anyway long range missile strafes.
One assigned to a unit, found that while she still loved flying, she did not like killing. When somebody is engaging you, it is a battle but always finds it hard shooting at those who ware not fighting back. Talked her commander into issuing her a pair of pistols. In general, prefers them over an energy rifle even though shorter ranged.
