Kittani “K-Standard” Light Combat Exo-Skeleton:

Experts with weapons and armors, the Kittani produce a number of their own designs but they are also experts at modify and improving designs. Kittani designs are famed for their quality and are sold on Rifts Earth at Atlantis and London. In the Three Galaxies, the designs are sold at Center and in a number of other markets. It is quite amazing just how popular Kittani designs are.

The K-Universal is a very capable light power design based on the Triax Terrain Hopper. The design has been copied and improved further both on Rifts Earth and within the Three Galaxies. The K-Universal is a fairly expensive armor however.

The Northern Gun "Gladius" Light Exo-Skeleton is a very interesting design due to the fact that it costs only a fraction that of a true power armor. Almost six Gladius light exo-skeletons can be purchased for the cost of a single Samson power armor. As such, it was the perfect design to base a less expense Kittani light combat armor design on.

Inspired by the name “K-Universal”, the Kittani combat exo-skeleton design was given the name "K-Standard." While based on the Gladius, the Kittani design greatly improved. The “K-Standard” is more expensive than the Gladius but is only a fraction of the cost of the “K-Universal.” Over six “K-Standard” can be purchased for the cost of a single “K-Universal” and a whole company could be fitted with these exo-skeletons for the cost of just a small number of power armors.

Compared to the Gladius, the “K-Standard” is better armored and able to withstand greater damage before being destroyed. In addition, it has slightly stronger “muscles” and has a slightly greater running speed than the Northern Gun design. The armor is designed to be fitted to a variety of different races including Humans and Kittani. Armor usually has to be custom fitted for the race although can be worn by individual of slightly different sizes.

Like the Gladius, the “K-Standard” does not have a fusion reactor but instead uses a huge battery pack. The battery pack gives ninety-six hours before needing to be replaced or recharged. The power pack is designed for rapid replacement and requires just a few minutes to change. Recharging is more rapid than the Gladius and takes thirty minutes to fully recharge compared to two hours. Few actual combats last even a fraction of this and the fusion reactor is the most expensive part of a set of power armor.

The “K-Standard” has no ability to power energy weapons directly from the suit and would drain the batteries rapidly. The armor can theoretically use a fighter pack however it must also be powered by its own power source. In addition, the armor lacks the full systems of a power armor including senor systems but instead has the systems of a standard set of body armor.

Model Type: Kittani LCES
Class: Armored Infantry Light Exo-Skeleton
Crew: One

M.D.C. by Location:

Arms (2):80 each
Legs (2):100 each
[1] Head:80
[2] Main Body:200

Notes:
[1] Destroying the head of the power armor will eliminate all forms of optical enhancements and sensory systems. The pilot is forced to rely on his own human vision and senses. Note: The head is a small and difficult target to hit, shielded by an exhaust tube, wings, and shoulder plating. Consequently, it can only be hit when a character makes a called shot and even then the attacker is - 4 to strike.
[2] Depleting the M.D.C. of the main body will shut the armor down completely, making it useless.

Speed:
Running: 45 mph (72.4 kph). Running does tire the operator but at 30% of normal rate. Armor is well suited for most terrains, including underwater.
Leaping: The powerful robot legs can leap up to 25 feet (7.62 meters) high or across.
Underwater Capabilities: Swimming: The K-Standard can swim by using the same types of paddling leg and arm movements as a human at a maximum speed of roughly four mph (6.4 km/3.4 knots). It can also walk along the bottom of the sea at about 25% its normal running speed.
Maximum Ocean Depth: 500 feet (152.4 meters).

Statistical Data:
Height: The suit is four inches (10.1 centimeters) taller than wearer. Armor is designed to be worn by individuals for five feet (1.52 meters) to seven feet (2.13 meters) although usually has to be custom fit for the race.
Width: Variable
Length: Variable
Weight: 85 lbs (38.6 kg)
Physical Strength: 25
Bonuses: +1 to Initiative and +1 attack per melee
Penalties: Has 10% penalty to prowl and requires three times longer to suit up than normal body armor.
Cargo: None (Bandolier and belt)
Power System: Electrical, has a 96 hour battery (Can change out battery in two minutes or recharge battery in thirty minutes)
Black Market Cost: 250,000 credits for a new, undamaged, full powered suit complete with jet pack. Good availability only at the city of Splynn and Kittani cities in Atlantis; scarce in Europe, unheard of anywhere else (Also available on Center and other areas in the Three Galaxies.)
