Pepper Ball Weapons:

These weapons are basically modified paintball weapons which are designed to fire balls of Capsaicin / Pepper Agent. They are extremely useful when less lethal force is desired. These weapons are better ranged than pepper spray and are more accurate. Ranges are up to 60 feet.

The body of special round is thicker and is designed to have a heavier impact than a standard Paintball round. It is of the large .68 caliber size. When it hits the target, the Pepperball shatters and spreads pepper agent on the target. While normally targeted on an individual, they can be sprayed in an area or can be used against walls or ceiling near the target. Thick clothing like a winter coat can prevent the pepperball from shattering.

These weapons are available in various forms - pistols, carbines, and even modified flashlights. While most models are semi-automatic, there are fully automatic versions as well. There is a variety of different rounds available other than pepper agent. There are training rounds as well as paint rounds and rounds which are designed to break windows.

When a target is hit by the Pepper Agent, they will have a penalty of -6 to strike, parry, and dodge as well as being last of initiative. There is no saving throw against the effects although a gas mask (or environmental body armor in Rifts) will protect against the effects of the agent.

It can be used to blind if it is shined directly in the eyes. The flashlight has a duration of around twelve hours using a special high capacity battery.
