Somehow she has the ability to combine being extremely charismatic while having an extremely bad temper. She has extremely black moods where she will just start smashing things. In large part her black moods and destructive streak is how she got the name “Typhoon Mary.” Gets angry for a great many reasons. She gets angry at the wealthy for having more than she had and the poor because she sees her childhood when she sees them. Other cases include the jealousy of other women, any that she sees as possibly being more successful than she is. In general, she does not appear to like other women very much.

Ever since anybody can remember, Mary-Lee always wanted the finer things in life. She wanted expensive clothing, fine jewelry, to live in a penthouse, etc. She especially loves jewelry and most of her attacks have been for jewelry and precious gems. Pretty much has always been without scruples, willing to take advantage of anybody around her. This includes persuading men around her to give her stuff. She has always been quite skilled with men generally even with her temper. Before her transformation, her plan was to find wealthy men and get them to marry her. One might expect that many might have suffered from accidents. Now, she will often betray a lover so that they take the rap for a theft so that she might escape.

Now with her abilities of controlling the weather, she can get what she wants on her own. Tends to lack subtly and will often smash to get what she wants. Interestingly, she is a coward and when her own skin is in danger, she will almost always beat a hasty retreat. Does not like fighting in close combat, preferring to use her wind abilities to strike. Her favorite opening attack is to throw multiple whirlwinds around. May also use fog to create cover for her attacks.

Personal Force Field: Ability to generate a limited protective force field. Force field follows the contours of the creator’s body as a set of invisible armor.

S.D.C. of Force Field: 86 (P.E. x 2 plus 10 / level.) Regenerates at rate of one S.D.C. per minute.

Notes on Force Field: Maintaining force field requires one attack per round. In addition, does not protect against gas attacks and force field is disrupted if creator becomes possessed or lose consciousness.


Control Elemental Forces (Air): Ability to Manipulate and control atmospheric conditions. Takes half damage from electrical and cold effects. Accurately sense air temperature within 1D4 degrees.

Wind Rush: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m), Duration: One melee round, +3 to Strike, Each wind rush counts as two attacks. Creates 60 mph (96 kph) wind which blows objects weighing up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg) up to 1D6x10 yards / meters away and break ordinary glass. Directed at single target, has 70% of knocking down target weighing less than 300 lbs (136 kg) and 60% if used in wide cone 20 ft (6 m) wide. If not knocked down, targets are reduced in speed to one quarter, have -6 to strike, and lose one attack. Penalties effect targets greater than 300 lbs (136 kg) as well.

Whirlwind: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m) with 20 feet (6 m) diameter. Duration: Eight melee rounds. Those inside whirlwind will be caught by 75 mph (120 kph) winds spinning inwards. Those in whirlwind will be unable to attack or speak for one melee round and be dashed against the ground and take 4D6 points of damage.

Ride The Wind: Ability to ride air currents to hover and fly slowly. Range: Self (Can carry 200 lbs / 90 kg additional weight.) Duration: 10 minutes / level. Maximum speed 15 mph (24.3 kph) with ability to rise up to 30 ft (9 m)/ melee. Can use all abilities while aloft. Otherwise, if knocked unconscious or severely hurt (loses 80% of H.P. / S.D.C. suddenly) will plummet from sky.

Change Wind Direction: Change direction of wind in a small area. Range: 320 ft (97.5 m) radius. Duration: Four minutes / level.

Stop Wind/Control (Wind) Speed: Completely stop wind in a small area. Range: 160 ft (49 m) radius. Duration: Four minutes / level.

Create Air Bubble: Create pocket of air to give protection vs toxic gasses and can be used under water. Movement limited to speed 10 inside bubble. Range: Self or up to 60 ft (18.3 m) away with radius of 6 ft (1.8 m). Duration: Twelve minutes / level.

Call Lightning: Call lighting from sky. Range: 200 ft (61 m) plus 20 ft (6 m) / level. Damage: 6D6. Has +2 to strike with lighting bolts with each costing one attack.

Atmospheric Manipulation: Range: 500 ft (152.5 m) radius plus 100 feet (30.5 m) / level, Duration: Fifteen minutes / level. Each use of ability counts as two attacks.

Abilities: Darken sky, Cause thunderclap (HF 13), increase/decrease wind up to 60 mph (96.5 kph) by 5 mph (9 kph) / melee, increase precipitation up to 90% by 10% / melee, create / dispel fog at rate of 10 square feet / melee, create cloud cover within 30 seconds.

Mary-Lee Stowe is quite attractive, almost model beautiful. About of average height, just under five and a half feet tall, she is not particularly muscular although is pretty athletic. Has quite a nice figure with medium sized breasts. Has brown hair with red highlights which she usually keeps in an attractive medium length shag style framing her face. Otherwise, it hangs down to her shoulders. Her eyes are a deep grey which reminds a person of a raging storm. While quite attractive, there is a slight look of cruelty in her face. Skin is a bit on the pale side with just a few freckles on it. As far as makeup, is quite skilled at the application and goes with an extremely dark color style which seems to fit her.

When not in costume, she tends to dress in extremely expensive and fashionable clothing. Likes dark greys, deep blues generally and sometimes whites. Has a large collection of white leather as well as expensive furs. Often wears icepick heels. Of course, with her ability to fly, it does not effect her movement much. As well, she usually wears a small fortune in jewelry including necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

As far as her costume, she wears a deep blue skin tight body suit. On her chest, the suit is open in the design of a typhoon, designed to reveal a lot of cleavage. The suit is sleeveless. Often even in costume, she wears multiple items of expensive jewelry. The costume has a set of ice pick heel boots. Does wear a mask hiding her face of a similar dark blue which her hair hangs freely from. While her actually identity is known to authorities, she prefers to keep not advertise herself.

Typhoon Mary’s History:

Mary-Lee was born into a family which one could only call “Poor White Trash” in Arkansas. Her parents only having sporadic jobs and often ending up on state support, Mary-Lee grew up in a run down trailer. Neither she or her four siblings ever had much and they were often ignored by their parents. Several times her parents were also threatened by child services that their children might be taken away. It might have turned out better for Mary-Lee as well as her brothers and sisters if they had.

As many children in such settings, she had to fight for what she had. This included with her own siblings as well as other children. From an early age, she had a ruthless streak, taking advantage of others whenever the situation presented itself. Always had a bit of a bad temper and would sometimes fly into rages. Never having much, Mary-Lee always dreamed of a better life. She wanted beautiful jewelry, fine clothing, expensive clothes, and of course lots of money.

Her ruthlessness might have served her well in business or even in law. Unlike virtually all of her brothers and sisters, she actually got pretty decent grades and graduated high school. Unfortunately, none of her teachers put her on the path to university and as one might expect her parents never encouraged her.

Most likely, her teachers expected her to marry soon after graduated or even beforehand. Her two sisters dropped out of high school when they became pregnant, one when she was just fourteen. Quite attractive, it was not like Mary-Lee was without boy friends. Rumors are that she had several abortions as a teenager although there has never been any confirmation.

Even in school, she was skilled at manipulating her boy friends, including talking one into buying her a quite nice convertible. This is in spite of the fact of her bad temper. Her plans at this time were to find a wealthy man, maybe elderly, and get him to marry her. Likely drain his bank accounts dry and then find a new wealthy target. With her ruthlessness, she might have become a “Black Widow” in time where she helped her husbands to an early grave. Still, hard to know how successful she might have been with her bad temper.

Other than her skills with manipulating men, she learned how to cheat at gambling and had manage to acquire some skill at it. While never liking the risk involved, also learned how to pick pockets with some skill as well. It was a way she could make a bit of money when unable to convince a boy friend to give her money and her gambling skills failed as well. As one might expect, on occasion she picked the pocket of a boyfriend. Pretty athletic in school generally and was a cheerleader for most of her time high school. Always had a passion for singing and dancing and might even be able to make a living as a profession with a bit of luck.

She had been preparing to move to the city when events though changed her life. It was a weird confluence of events that would be impossible to duplicate. While not as well known for tornadoes as Kansas, Arkansas has more than its share of tornadoes. At the outskirts of town, there was a long abandoned government, maybe military, research facility. Long before some mutagenic chemicals had been stored there and then forgotten. Perhaps it had been part of some sort of Cold War experiment. People drove by the buildings every day and paid the “Danger” signs no heed.

As far would have it, Mary-Lee had been driving beside the complex when a massive tornado struck. The funnel first ripped through the complex before engulfing her car. Somehow the tornado managed to shatter the containers that the chemicals had been stored in and the mutagenic compounds were aerosolized. How those chemicals reacted to her is unknown but somehow she managed to survive apparently unhurt.

It was not long until she discovered she had extraordinary powers. It is most likely that she already had the potential but that the exposure to the chemicals triggered the latent abilities and probably shaped their exact form. Learned quickly that she could control the weather and soon learned she could fly as well. It took a bit more time until she realized she could create a protective force field around herself.

Somebody of a different background might have become a hero. Not Mary-Lee however, instead using her abilities for her own gain and to take out her anger on unfortunates around her. One of her first displays of her power was to break into a jewelry store with the storm she generated virtually completely destroying the store. Many of her break in and robbery were just as destructive as the first one and people began calling her “Typhoon Mary” as a result.

Even though it is well known that she is poison, she has still been able to convince a number of males to help her in her various scheme. Quite often they are her lovers. Does not ally herself often with other women because she has a much harder time twisting them around her finger and she does not have any interest in women. Even as loves, she sees nothing in betraying them. Has done that several times with those who have helped her, leaving them to take the blame.
