EBSIS Mil Mi-24 Hind F Attack Helicopter:

In many ways, the Hind is the predecessor to the Commanchero that in service with the RDF. The hind was a very early helicopter gun ship but is very effective. The Hind is a large helicopter but is extremely maneuverable for its size. While most of the military members of Global Government would deny it, the design is not set up like conventional non soviet designs of attack helicopters. Like many soviet designs, the Hind design survived the Global war. The Hind F is a version designed using materials that have become available since the crashing of Zentraedi equipment on Earth. The armor of the Hind F is actually scavenged from crashed Zentraedi equipment on the earliest models and is copied from Zentraedi armor on later models. The missiles of the helicopter are also copied from missile designs scavenged from Zentraedi mecha. The helicopter design that emerged from the modifications is truly exception and is almost the equal to the Commanchero. The EBSIS also has more conventional attack helicopters but the hinds ability to carry cargo makes them in high demand.

Model Type: Mil Mi-24 Hind F
Class: Helicopter Gun ship & Combat Transport
Crew: Three (Pilot, Gunner, and Flight Engineer), can carry up to 8 passengers as well

M.D.C. by Location:

23 mm Gsh- 23L Machineguns (2, Nose): 10 each
Ordnance Racks on sides (2): 35 each
[1] Main Propeller:20
[1] Tail:20
Landing Gear (3):4 each
Reinforced Cockpits (2):35 each
Troop/Cargo Compartment:30
[2] Main Body:90

Notes:
[1] Destroying the rear rotor or one of the main blades will cause the helicopter to fly at ½ speed, wobble and is -6 to parry, -3 to strike, and -40% on piloting skill/maneuvers. Smart pilots will land as soon as possible. Destroying the main top rotor will knock the helicopter out of the sky! Roll under the piloting skill -30% for a successful crash landing (due to the reinforced nature of the Hind, crew takes only 1/2 damage from an impact.
[2] Destroying the main body knocks the helicopter out of the sky and renders it completely useless.

Speed:
Driving on Ground (Taxiing): Only possible for take offs and landings as well as for parking and storage. Speed is 40 mph (64 kph) when traveling and not on take off or landing.
Flying: Hover to 208 mph (335 kph) with 183 mph (295 kph) cruise speed and has a ceiling of 14,763.8 feet (4500 meters). The helicopter has great maneuverability and VTOL capabilities.
Maximum Effective Range: The Hind has a non combat range (without any ordinance) of 621 miles (1000 km). If the helicopter is loaded with ordnance, range is reduced to about 466 miles (750 km). The Hind may carry up to two drop tanks to extend the range of Hind by 124.3 miles (200 km). As well, an internal fuel bladder may be carried, in expense of cargo or passengers, to increase the Hinds range by 372.8 miles (600 km)

Statistical Data:
Height: 21.3 feet (6.5 meters)
Length: 70.5 feet (21.5 meters)
Width: 56.8 feet (17.5 meters)
Weight: 18,077.9 lbs (8,200 kg) empty and 24,691.7 lbs (11,200 kg) fully loaded.
Power Source: 2 Klimov TV3-117 turboshafts each rated at 2,220 hp
Cargo: 8 soldiers with full gear, 4 stretchers, or 2200 lbs (1000 kg) of cargo internally

Weapon Systems:

  1. Fixed Twin Gsh-23 Auto-Cannon: Fires a 23 mm rounds. This weapon system is one of the standard weapon of Soviet aircraft. These weapons are fixed forward and is mounted on the chin of the helicopter but earlier versions carried a chin mounted 12.7 mm turret. Weapons are controlled by the Hinds gunner and are normally fired at the same time. The EBSIS has developed more powerful ammunition so it can damage the new M.D.C. alloys. While the weapon does not inflict as much damage as most guns from RDF fighters, it still inflicts a good amount of damage.
Maximum Effective Range: 4,000 feet (1,310 meters)
Mega Damage: Single Cannon: 1D6 per 10 round burst and 3D6 per 30 round burst. Both Cannons: 2D6 per 10 round burst from each cannon and 6D6 per 30 round burst from each cannon.
Rate of Fire: Equal to the combined hand to hand attacks of the gunners (usually 4 or 5).
Payload: 240 rounds each (24 short bursts and 6 long bursts)
  2. Hard Points (6): The EBSIS Mi-24 Hind has a total of six hard points on what look like wings on the side of the helicopter. Missiles, rocket packs, extra guns pods, grenade launchers, and bombs can be mixed or matched but all ordnance on a individual hard point must be the same type of ordnance.
    1. Bombs and Missiles: The only restriction is that a hard point must carry all the same type of missiles or bombs. Both unguided and guided bombs can be carried.
Maximum Effective Range: Varies by missile type for missile and varies by altitude bombs are dropped at (See Robotech RPG book for missiles).
Mega Damage: Varies by missile or bomb type (See Robotech RPG book for missiles).
Rate of Fire: Missiles can be fired and bombs can be dropped one at a time per hard point. Multiple hard points can be linked as one attack but must be the same size (light, medium, or heavy) and style of ordnance (all missiles or bombs in a volley.)
Payload: Varies by hard point (see above - all ordnance on a hard point must be the same size and type of ordnance).
    2. Rocket Pods: Large capacity short range missile pod. The short range missile pods are normally carried for ground strafing, anti-troop, and anti-emplacement attacks. Normal missile used are armor piercing, plasma, or fragmentation short range missiles.
Maximum Effective Range: Varies with missile types, short range missiles only (See Robotech RPG book).
Mega Damage: Varies with missile types (See Robotech RPG book).
Rate of Fire: Each pod can fire missiles one at a time or in volleys of 3, 6, or 9 and can be linked with other mini missile pods for greater number of missiles (Counts as one attack no matter how many missiles in volley.)
Payload: Each pod carries 9 short missile.
    3. Gsh-23 Auto-Cannon Pod: Fires a 23 mm rounds. This weapon system is one of the standard weapon of Soviet aircraft. These weapons are fixed forward. The EBSIS has developed more powerful ammunition so it can damage the new M.D.C. alloys. While the weapon does not inflict as much damage as most guns from RDF fighters, it still inflicts a good amount of damage. Multiple cannons can be combined together and may be combined with chin mounted cannons.
Maximum Effective Range: 4,000 feet (1,310 meters)
Mega Damage: 1D6 per 10 round burst and 3D6 per 30 round burst.
Rate of Fire: Equal to the combined hand to hand attacks of the gunners (usually 4 or 5).
Payload: 240 rounds each (24 short bursts and 6 long bursts)
