Disposition:

Cassandra is not really typical for a Temporal Warrior. There is a fighting streak in her but she does not believe in the barbarism which many Temporal Warriors will indulge in. She prefers also dressing lighter in terms of armoring than most Temporal Warriors. In a fight, she likes to use trickery whenever possible although she does like sword fighting. She does have an interest in magic items and likes to collect them when she can. She also has a passion for Navies around the time frame around the French Revolution to around the War of 1812 between the United States and England.

She does not have many hatreds but does have a hatred for anyone taking slaves and Splugorth and their minions in specific. Even though she hates Splugorth, their minions, and all other slavers, she cannot be considered bitter. She has a love of life which shows through her actions and her speak. Like most people with similar backgrounds, she does have times which her life as a slave gets to her but she is usually able to fight the funk off. As well, she sometimes suffers from nightmares about that time in her life. She realizes that much of her training was only through having been captured by the Splugorth but she does feel that is an excuse for their actions.

Cassandra is loyal to her friends and will fight to save them. Loyalty and honor are both very important to her. While a bit lax in following rules which are put down, she does have a word of honor which she believes in keeping. She tries real hard to be friendly and outgoing. She does not usually even mind practical jokes when they are done to her. Cassandra is sexual active and does like the company of those of both sexes although she spends most of her time in company with men.

Appearance:

Cassandra is a tall and slender woman who is quite strong. Even so, she can only be considered feminine with nice breasts. Her skin is only a little paler than average for a Caucasian. From her appearance, Cassandra is very attractive, she appears to be of Irish descent although does not have any freckling. Her hair is a reddish blond which hangs just about down to her waist. She often wears her hair in a long pony-tail or will sometimes wear part of her hair hanging straight over a smaller pony-tail. Cassandra has wide blue green eyes which surround a small nose. She has a slightly pointed chin and a small mouth. She usually does not use a large amount of cosmetics, preferring to mostly darken her eyes, add a bit of color to her cheeks, and used a flesh colored gloss for her lips. The Tatoos are on her arms and are usually hidden by a coat.

Cassandra likes to dress in costumes which are similar to what might have been worn by Naval Officers around the French Revolution including a pointed naval hat and a long uniform coat which is almost a cloak. Her coat has shoulder boards as well as having gold piping and is extremely striking. Cassandra like white lace and usually wears white lace sleeves and a lace lingerie top (usually over her body armor) which reveals a lot of cleavage. She usually also wears a white corset over the lingerie top. She does like wearing dresses at time and those are pulled from around the same time frame and she likes to show off in those costumes as well.

Background (In Her Own Word):


I don’t know what name my parents gave me when I was born. I have no memories before I became a slave in Atlantis. I suspect that I was captured when I was three or four years old. Most likely, I came from a farm or small town from the eastern part of North America. I know this based on being able to speak American and knowing no other languages except what I was taught as a slave. In Atlantis, a bastardized version of the Dragon tongue is spoking for the most part. It is also spoken by Elves but most Elves look at me in horror when I speak it due to my accent from being taught the language in Atlantis.


One of the Temporal Wizards who I worked with gave me the name “Cassandra” after the prophetess who tried to warn Troy of attack according to the ancient mythology of somewhere on Earth. The Temporal Wizard was a history and mythology buff who told me the story of Troy many times. I was given that name because I often have clairvoyant visions. It is as good a name as any and it stuck. “Cassandra” is also quite different that “Mageth” which what the Overlord called me. I refuse to use the name which the Overlord called me.


Always tall for my age, I was an extremely athletic human as well as being attractive. A perfect example of one of their special slaves. As a result, I was selected to become a Tattoo Warrior when I was young and was given hand to hand training started fairly early, probably around the age of eight. My status did not protect me from being beaten and otherwise abused. There is no way to properly tell about the abuse I received except to state that it was in almost every conceivable form. Even when I did nothing wrong, I was punished. The punishments were to break the will of slaves. They never broke my will.


Before I managed to escape, I had received a total of four tattoos. I had received a simple cutlass tatoo, a tatoo of a sea eagle, a flaming cutlass tatoo, and a skull surrounded in flames. The pain receiving magical tatoos is incredible although the eagle and the normal cutlass were not so bad. The truly horrible one was the flaming skull. It was the last one I received before escaping and could barely move afterwards. I was in pain everywhere and was constantly throwing up. As well, when I had recovered I found that activating my burning skull tattoo virtually knocked me out from the spending of my magical reserves and several of my punishments just before I escaped were due to almost passing out from activating the tattoo.


While I have no memories of my life before becoming a slave, many of the ones who were captured when they were older told stories about the lands outside of Atlantis. The very idea of freedom was something I clutched at. If I ever got a chance, I planned to escape. Most likely it would have been when I had become a full Tatoo Warrior if events had not intervened. Whoever purchased me likely would have departed Atlantis sometime and I likely could have escaped then.


One day, a group of slaves including me, were being transported through the main market on our way back to our pens from an inspection by one of the Overlords. I was around twelve years old and was just beginning to develop into a woman. Sometimes the Overlord would pit us against each other in the arena to weed out the less capable. The Overlords had a love for blood and was likely the reason why I got the simple tattoo of a cutlass fairly early. It would allow me to draw blood in an area without the blow being a killing stroke. It was brutal but if you wanted to survive, you had to fight. Several times, I was almost killed in the arena although magical healing prevented me from being permanently scarred.


There were stories about Temporal Raiders who would create Rifts and make raids against various places in Atlantis. Suddenly, a Rift opened up and a Temporal Raider along with several Temporal Wizards and Warriors erupted from the Rift. Many Splugorth minions were killed in the raid including the slave master who was taking us back.


I decided that now was the best chance to escape. Jumping through the Rift with the last member of the raiding party, I was able to escape just before the Rift closed. It was not the escape to freedom which I had hoped for but at least it got me out of Atlantis. The Temporal Raider offered me a deal. Either I could apprentice myself to the Temporal Raider for at least six years or I would be sold as a slave. Several of the Temporal Raiders apprentices had recently decided to go their own way. The truth was that virtually anything was better than being a slave again. Given the choice between becoming a Temporal Warrior or Wizard, I chose to learn how to be a Temporal Warrior. My skills with the sword were already excellent and I decided that it would be best to continue in that path.


I was learning magic to focus into tatoos but now I was being taught how to focus magic into spells instead. The study was quite a bit different, less instinctive and more trained. I cannot say the lessons were easy but I learned. I never learned how to read and write and the Splugorth did not bother to teach me either. In order for me to learn the magic easier, I needed to learn to read and write although I have met some Temporal Warriors who cannot read and write.


As I learned the way of a Temporal Warrior, there was some satisfaction. Raiding villages and towns were never easy for me but raids against the Splugorth and their minions were something very different. There are few I hate as much as the Splugorth. I wish there was a way to kill off every last Splugorth and their minions. The problem is that they are simply too powerful. Our raids, while netting huge profits, never were much more than a pinprick to Splynncryth, the Splugorth ruler of Atlantis. It was during the raids where my clairvoyance manifested. It saved us from an ambush which would have otherwise likely meant the capture or death of the entire raiding party I was with.


Even though I had to do many things in the raids which I consider horrid, the raids did profit me greatly. I was able to capture a number of magic items including a Altarain Talisman of Armor. Of course, I had to fight the Altarain to get her talisman but she found herself outmatched when threw a sensory deprivation spell against her. Instead of just being blind, she was blind, deaf,, and without any other senses. She could use none of her psionic abilities against me either due to the spell. From raids against Atlantis, I also was able to captain a pair of magical swords. Fairly basic compared to other magic weapons found on Atlantis, they are still very useful and better than the vibro-swords which I used previously. While I can use both automatic pistols and energy pistols fairly well, I have always preferred sword combat at fairly close range.


I served faithfully as an apprentice for my six years. There were several chances for me to escape but I gave my word of honor that I would stay the full six years. It cannot be considered an enjoyable six years with some of what I had to do but I made it through. The six years actually went by incredibly fast and learned quite a bit. In many ways the training made me far more flexible than I would have been as a Tattoo Warrior. Still, the two magical tattoos I have are extremely useful at times. During the six years, I had developed the style to adopt the style of dress of an ancient naval officer. I dislike dressing in the garb which is considered normal for a Temporal Warrior. The Temporal Raider was based on a Ley Line ship which could also sail on oceans and I had learned to pilot the ship on an ocean as well. The Temporal Raider tried hard to persuade me to continue with him longer and told me about how much more I could learn. I decided to leave his services while I still had a sense of honor and was still sane. Most older Temporal Warriors (and Temporal Wizards for the matter) suffer from one or more insanities as far as I am concerned.


Since being on my own, I have taken a variety of variety of jobs and have been reasonable successful at them. I helped fight back a party of raiders working for the Splugorth going for more slaves. I had allies in that battle including another escaped slave who was a Tattoo Warrior as well as a skilled knight. The Tattoo Warrior was around my age but the knight was much older, likely around his mid thirties. Still, he was a pretty nice guy. Did not get much out of that battle because most escaped but still managed to give the raiders quite a black eye. The reason I was there was because I was trying to find where my old home might have been. Nothing looked familiar. I have been told that people don’t remember much from before they were around five years old.


Eventually, I am hoping to be able to save enough money to purchase a Ley Line ship of my own. Likely I will not be able to afford a large one like the Temporal Raider had but I would like to get at least a smaller one.
