Techno-Wizard “Black Mirror” Sword:

These weapons can be in a variety of different styles from ninja-to, katana, sabre, cutlass, and can be other blades as well. Most common weapons are the ninja-to, sabre, and katana. The weapons themselves appear to be of the finest craftsmanship no matter the style of the weapon. These swords generally appear to be highly polished but black.

These swords are incredibly powerful and considered extremely valuable. There is believed to only be a relatively small number in existence. Regardless of the appearance of these weapons, they carry the same basic enchantments. Otherwise they are similarly enchanted to other techno-wizard weapons such as the better known Deathbringer and Battle Fury weapons.

For combat, these weapons are most useful for those who like to use a bit of cunning and misdirection. The enchantment of “Mystic Portal” allows the wielder to attack from an unexpected direction. It also allows an easy escape. The sword is slashed at the air to cut a portal. At the same time, the enchantment of “Targeted Deflection” allows the wielder to turn an attacks back against the attacker.

These weapons are especially popular among techno-wizard thieves although some combat techno-wizard also love these swords. In addition somehow these swords have found their way to Japan where they are also extremely popular with techno-wizard ninjas.

Weight: Sabre: 2.9 lbs (1.3 kg). Ninja-To: 3.1 lbs (1.4 kg). Others depend on type of blade.

Mega Damage: 4D6 (Some high quality katanas inflict 6D6).

M.D.C. of the Sword itself: 120. The sword regenerates damage at the rate of 10 M.D.C. per day. Such damage occurs only when an opponent deliberately tries to destroy the weapon.

Powers:

Mystic Portal: When 60 P.P.E. is channeled into the weapon, it can be slashed in the air to create a mystic portal. Can be used to pass through solid walls of up to 60 feet (18.3 meters) or can be used to teleport flawlessly at ranges up to 500 feet (152.4 meters.) The portal is one way where one can pass through but not pass back through. The wielder can immediately cancel the portal but it is possible for one to follow the wielder through the portal. Also, if not dispelled, one can right through the portal.

Targeted Reflection: When 15 P.P.E. is channeled into the weapon, the weapon can be used to parry energy blasts and attacks back at the originator. The wielder of the weapon makes a parry roll with a +3 in addition to any other bonuses with the weapon. If a successful parry is made, then if the roll is 13 or greater the blast is sent back to the attacker. Unless they expect it, the attacker can only dodge or parry with no bonuses. The wielder can bounce the attack at a different target but needs a 16 or greater without bonuses. Only energy blasts, including magical, can be directed back at the attack but can deflect projectiles harmlessly away. The enchantment lasts for 6 melees/1.5 minutes.

Bonuses: +2 to initiative, +1 to Strike, and +1 to Parry.

Spells Needed: The spells of Ensorcel, Blinding Flash, Feather Light, Targeted Deflection, Mystic Portal, and Enchant Weapon. Requires 2 to 3 months to create.
