Emerald is very loyal to those she considers to be her friends while still being a person who has a disdain for the actual letter of law in most cases. Along with her disdain for laws, she like to often think of unusual solutions for problems and is very much a free thinker. The lady wizard is highly motivated and driven when working on a project. She loves her daughter more than anything else including her magic although her magic is her second great love and prior to her daughter being born, magic was her greatest love. Emerald can only be described as voluptuous. She has an incredible figure with large yet still firm breasts, a narrow waist, and wide hips. She knows quite clearly that she is incredibly as she walks in a fashion to accentuate her feminine qualities. While quite healthy, she cannot be described as truly athletic. Emerald is fairly tall and is around five foot seven inches in height. She has flaming red hair which she prefers to leave free and hangs down below the small of her back. Even though a red head, she has flawless skin and doe snot have any freckles. She has a small slender nose between her powerful green eyes. Even though she is over forty years in age, she appears to only be around twenty through the use of magic. Her eyes are her most striking feature and seem to stare right into a person. In cosmetics, Emerald prefers a fairly natural look with her lips dyed a natural peach and a bit of blush.
In dress, she loves to show her assets with her gowns or robes open on the top to show a maximum amount of her assets. Her robes usually are of the finest style but leave her shoulders and showing a generous portion of her breasts. The skirt potion of most of her robes and gowns flare to a wide skirt which accentuates both her narrow waist and wide hips. Common colors she wears are silver, grey, white, and green.

The dagger is a simple rune weapon which she found while adventuring on a deserted island on the Floenry island chain. The weapon is extremely well balanced and is the equal of a very high quality Dwarven crafted Kinjal style dagger, has bonuses of +3 [+11] to Parry, +2 [+9] to strike, +2 [+11] to strike when thrown, and +2 to initiative from construction. She will not use the dagger as a throwing weapon. The weapon has all the standard abilities of rune weapons but no additional special abilities. The dagger appears to be a silver bracelet decorated with leaf patterns and she wears it to act as a final weapon if she is otherwise disarmed. When the command word is spoken, the bracelet transforms in a Cinquedea which is extremely well balanced and appears to be of Dwarven manufacture, has the bonuses of +4 to Damage +3 to Parry and +2 to Strike. The dagger is silver plated to effect Werewolves and other creature that are only effected by silver weapons.

Cloak of Guises: It is a full length cloak that will turn into any set of clothing limited only in the color. In color, it can only change through different shades within the same color. Since this one is grey it can turn anywhere from dark grey to light grey. The cloak can also change into the colors of white and silver.
Crystal Ball: Very powerful and very rare magic item. The crystal ball enables the user to gaze at any person, creature, or place within 1000 miles (1600 km) radius. The only restriction is that the user must be familiar with the target to use the ball and costs no P.P.E. to activate. Requires 2D4 melee rounds to function and images as well as sounds can be heard. The crystal ball has an indefinite duration.

Each talisman stores 50 P.P.E. While enchanted, they are also quite valuable due to craftsmanship and materials. They were all made by her and as such they can only be recharged by her. She wears a pair of emerald and gold earrings which are worth 5,000 gold for the pair and a matching emerald and gold necklace worth 25000 gold with four talismans worked into it. When she wears the necklace and the earrings, she has an additional 300 P.P.E. She also has a crown / tiara with multiple emeralds (often called the emerald crown) which has ten talismans working into it. This stores an additional 500 P.P.E.

Emerald's History (In Her Own Words):

Most of the girls in the village I was born in only ever wanted to be wives and mothers. I did not understand the desire to be a wife and mother until many years later although I never approached it with the drive which many of the girls in the village had. My love since being able to know what it mean was magic. My father was an old grizzled mercenary who had been hired to guard a small village within the Eastern Territory but near the monster inhabited lands of what had once been the "Great" Elven Kingdom. I guess that he found himself attracted to a woman of the village or it might have been that he got her pregnant. Whatever the case was, my father seemed happy enough with my mother.

I was third born of four children and the only daughter. I guess one of the few things I had in common with the other girls in the village was that I no interest in becoming a mercenary fighter although my father insisted on all of his children knowing how to defend myself. Knowing many wizards who have no ability to defend themselves and having needed to defend myself several times in hand to hand, I must state that knowing a bit about hand to hand combat can save your life. While two of my brothers decided to settle as farmers, my oldest brother decided to become a mercenary fighter like my father had been before her retired. I am not sure about what happened to my eldest brother, I have long lost touch with him.

I would guess that I was inspired to become a lady wizard by a conjurer who visited my village when I was very young. Now, in retrospect, I know that he was not practicing real magic but it seemed incredible to me at the time. I was told that always was very attractive, even as a toddler and that I had my father wrapped around my little finger. He always called me "Emerald" for my green eyes. I know that he had multiple offers for me as either a wife for one of the sons of one of the elders in the village and in a couple of cases for the elders themselves. I definitely had no desire to be a farmer's wife and was able to convince my father to send me to the city of Wisdom to learn the ways of being a wizard.

Around the same time as I started my apprenticeship, I was blooming into a woman and I could tell quite clearly what the looks I got meant. I see no sin in using my spectacular looks and voluptuous body to my best advantage and dressed best to show off my assets. After all, Isis gave me this body. I found that I could wrap more than just my father around my fingers. I found most of the students to be very shallow and set my sights on several of my teachers. I was able to trade my attentions for extra tutelage and consider it to have been a fair trade. While I found their skills in bed to be lacking in many cases, it did allow me to polish up my own lovemaking skills. I know that there was some stories and rumors being told about me but I finished my apprenticeship with several additional spells compared to the other apprentices. Life is not always fair.

I forgot to mention previously but since I was a young child, I would sometimes feel like I could read the mind of others and sometimes I would get visions of the future. While in my apprenticeship, I discovered that I was a psychic and was taught in school how to control my abilities. As well, the training allowed me to fully develop into my potential including the ability to read the aura of a person and the ability to feel danger before I was attacked. I also developed an incredible memory and the ability to read extremely rapidly which helped me to be able to learn magic far faster than some of the other student mages.

Some apprentices decide to settle soon after finishing training but most do not become truly successful. Like most apprentices who want to make a name for themselves, I decided to go adventuring. A lady wizard who is well known can often collect much higher fees for their services and I always wanted to amass enough wealth to live in comfort if I wished. I traveled mostly through the Eastern Territory and the Timero Kingdom although I had a few forays into the lands above the human lands of the Eastern Territory and west into the abandoned Elven lands. One of the items I discovered was an ancient spell book. I could only recover a few of the spells but one of them had a spell which keeps time at bay. It is very costly in terms of magical energy but gives me the potential to live for centuries. Another item I found was a crystal ball which I have kept as secret as I could since.

While adventuring, I visited the village which I had come from. It was far smaller and poorer than I remembered. The village was also extremely dirty and dusty. My father also seemed very old and he had never seemed so old before. I had come dressed in one of my best sets robes and I could tell that no one recognized me including my family. I knew then that I would never fit there again and resolved to never come back. At least before I left, I made sure that I thought they would be well supported and thought they would be safe. Unfortunately I was wrong, years later the entire village was destroyed by a huge Orc raid and virtually the entire population was slaughtered.

My life changed when I met an Elven Long Bowman named Eldrik Traceane. It had been a while since I had left my family's village. I had met several elves in the past and none of them had showed any interest in me and while incredibly handsome, they seemed more arrogant than anything else. He was different, I could see great interest in his blue eyes. He had a commanding presence, he was incredibly tall, and was more handsome than any man who I had ever met. I don't know what happened but my entire body was on fire like it had never been before. We started talking and found out that he was a king of an Elven enclave in the middle of the Old Kingdom mountains. The rest of that evening is a virtual blur. I found him ripping my cloths off and found myself responding to every touch like I never had before. I had slept with numerous men before him and always loved sex but something was different. Maybe it was just that he was an elf but maybe he was simply the right man. We made love. That is a pale word for what actually happened. I much have had dozens of orgasms, at least, that night. We made love until we simply collapsed.

Along with becoming lovers, we became adventuring companions. It was a good situation, he could deal with most enemies which his incredible archery skills while I could deal with other adversaries with my magic. We took positions on a merchant vessel. The ship payed very well for a skilled archery and a powerful wizard. In one of the vessel's voyages, the ship visited several islands in the Floenry chain. We landed on a unsettled island and in exploring the ruins of a beached vessel, I found a rune dagger which I have carried ever since. While many consider lesser rune weapons to be of little value, I disagree. The dagger does not have as strong a personality as many more powerful rune weapons and is extremely useful in battle. When the vessel left the island chain, the ship was caught in a massive storm and was blown far off course. We discovered an island which was far off the coast of the Eastern Territory. This is the same island which was later settled as Refriume.

After having been almost lost at sea, we mutually decided that it would be best to stay on land for a while. The ship found its way back to the Land of the South Winds and I persuaded him that he should show me the isolated kingdom which he called home. It was a dangerous trip and we were delayed in our travels. Weather was a factor but problems with raiders slowed his return to his homeland. When we made it to his kingdom, I tried to stay on the sidelines as much as possible. Still, it was clear to most of the other nobles that I was his mistress. A relatively small number of wizards and other mages had settled in the kingdom but they still needed to be organized. Eventually I decided that I could no longer stand on the sidelines and decided that I needed to organize the other practitioners of magic myself to form a much more effective defense of the kingdom. While the kingdom was still far from safe from non-human barbarians, it still helped greatly if I say so myself.

There had been a large estate near the border of the kingdom which had been saved through the intervention of mages. Basically, we were able to send a powerful elemental and were able to defeat a large group of attacking Trolls. The lord of the estate sent me an unusual gift in return for saving his estate. He sent me a magical potion which would turn a human in an elf for a full day. I was still quite infatuated with Eldrik and was not interested in sleeping with anyone else. I had stopped using magic or herbs to prevent pregnancy because Elves and Humans are infertile together without the interference of magic. I was kind of curious about what it would be like to be an elf and tried the potion. I was slimmer and taller as an elf with a less pronounced yet still feminine figure. I found out later that I was fertile when I used the potion and found out that the fertility carried over as an elf. Eldrik, if anything, seemed to be even more taken by my Elven form and we made love. It was just like that first night all over and we both collapsed from the marathon love making session. Before I feel asleep, I remember hearing him state that if I could be this elf always, he would marry me. When I woke up, I remember feeling the warmth of his arms. I was extremely sore but back to being a human again. Still, it felt wonderful. I did not know that my entire world had changed.

A few weeks later, I started getting sick and I could see no reason for it. I decided that I should have a psi-healer see me and requested that the castle's physician check to see what was wrong. The healer told me that I was pregnant and suffering from morning sickness. I was not even thinking about the magical transformation and thought taht it was impossible. When the psychic healer finally convinced me that I was pregnant, I thought that some one must have drugged me and I had been raped while unconscious. The psi-healer examined me even closer psychically and I found out the truth. I was carrying a half elf and half human child in my womb. That is when I thought about the potion and how it had transformed me into an elf. I had never considered children important until that moment but I decided that I did not want to give up the gift, the miracle, which Isis had given me. I did think about the child being the potential future ruler of the kingdom but it was more important that the child was mine. Even though a secondary concern, I did not want my child to be a Bastard if I had any choice in the matter.

With Eldrik's previous suggestion that he would marry me if I was an elf, I figured I would approach him with the suggestion that a marriage might be the best solution to the problem. I told him that through the transformation magic, I was pregnant with his child and asked if he would be responsible for the child. He was amazed at the situation and took much persuasion to believe that the child was really his but I was able to get him to ask me for marriage. It was a bit tricky to talk him into thinking it was his idea but I was successful. On our wedding day, I took the name Queen Emerald.I thought it was fitting.

There are various stories about children being conceived between elves and humans and few of them tell about the problems. Simply put, there is something different between our bodies and it is not meant to happen. The care of a good healer is a very good idea. I had far more problems that I likely would have had with a human child and I am lucky that I was very healthy. Otherwise, I am not sure how the pregnancy would have gone. Elves pregnancies are slightly longer than human and I carried the child for almost ten months. Finally, it was time to give birth. I had my daughter and my husband chose the name "Elmaraine" after his great grand mother. The name was fine with me, I know that lineages are very important. The real problem was that he declare that our daughter's "Husband" would inherit the throne not directly our daughter herself. I knew that he had come from an unusual society for elves but did not know that its society was so paternal.

There was a couple of years of comparative peace. I worked on various areas of magical research and got used to being both a mother and a queen. There had been an influx of human citizens who had settled during this time. I should have known that it could not last. I am a weak clairvoyant and I had visions of the vents to come. We were able to prepare although just barely. The various creatures on our borders had been quiet for several years and most of us, including me, assumed that they had simply decided to go after easier pickings. We were wrong, a powerful chieftain had organized them and they attacked like never before. They killed many people, killed a large percentage of the kingdoms livestock, destroyed crops. There were cases of whole villages being raised to the ground. Many also starved from the destruction of crops and livestock. I do not know if it was just nature or if the warlord had found someone powerful to help him but we were lashed by incredible storms, some which appeared normal while other appeared anything but. Bolstered by the new human settlers, the kingdom's defenders managed to hold off the attackers but we were afraid that this would happen again in just a few years once the attackers had reorganized again. Eldrek decide it was time to move to less hostile lands and his thoughts ran to the uninhabited island which we had discovered years prior.

A new expedition was organized to see if the island could be found again. It was difficult to find again but the expedition was successful. There was some luck and we found that the island was a fair amount larger that was originally thought. As well, there were several ley lines running through the island and several ley line nexus points as well. There was what I considered to be a suitable ley line nexus and I used it to help boost my ability to return to the King's castle. There had been a teleport beacon installed in the castle so that teleportation could be done without error. The king took the ship back while I started work. I started teleporting people and supplies to the island. There was a bit of risk although I had carefully memorized the location to reduce it as much as possible. I teleported a number of the kingdoms mystic steeds because they had lost huge numbers with the attacks and wanted to make sure at least some survived. Problem is that they are extremely large creatures and are hard to teleport. As soon as possible, an additional teleport beacon was created and was shipped to the island. Unfortunately, they cannot be teleported and had to be carried in a conventional such as onboard ship. Warlocks were always an important part of the kingdom and they played a pivotal role on the new island as well. While I was doing this, my husband was working on other parts of getting the island reading including organizing large ocean convoys to the island and gathering a navy to help to protect the island.

The first few years on the island which we had named Refriume were incredibly trying. Much of the land was not fertile for the crops which we needed to grow and the growing needed to be boosted by magic. Eventually the island became prosperous and the population grew to larger than it had been before the kingdom had been located on the mainland. While most of these were elves, a sizable number of humans also decide to settle on the new island. The king commissioned a beautiful castle with a tower which appears to be constructed from quartz although much stronger. Much of the tower was constructed for me and includes several rooms for my magical research, the castle's library, and a large study.

King Eldrik never could settle down for more that a few years. He was always questing for new horizons and I think he had become bored with his successful island. He may have also begun to become bored with both his wife and his daughter as well. A vessel visited the island which had a story about a new land far to the east. Eldrik decided to lead an expedition to find the new land. I considered going but did not want to leave my daughter and did not want the island to be without both king and queen. My husband's vessel disappeared soon after leaving the island. The king had both a ring of teleport and a ring of "Magic Pigeon" and yet I never heard anything back from him. I tried to use my crystal ball to discover what had happened to the king along with a variety of magic spells. I was unsuccessful in all my attempts. A second group of ships were sent to try and find what had happened to the first expedition and they disappeared as well. I could not support sending any more vessels and having them lost as well. I wonder if my magic would have helped and it haunted me for several years although I have come to realize that I made the best decision which I could.

When my husband disappeared, I fought long and hard for the position of regent for my daughter. I did not want someone who did not have my daughters interests at heart as her regent. To be honest, I wish I could have passed on the job but did not dare. I have gotten very tired of both politics and the small minded as big mouthed nobles and their endless gossip. You would think that elves would not be so mired in gossip but sometimes I wonder if they are not worse in reality. I have done the best job I could with ruling the island although I have made many mistakes, some which are pretty big in my opinion. One of the most major changes which I have instituted is to change my daughter's status so that she will inherit the throne of the island in her own right. The time as "Queen Regent" has been the longest sixteen years of my life and will be glad

There is a lot of rumors which has been told about me and much I have wondered about. I have heard through spies that a small number of nobles have whispered that I am really the cause of the King's death. I would never do anything like that and would likely take the family jewels and escape to another land with my daughter before doing anything like that. Various nobles have whispered about me being born from peasants. This mostly comes from nobles who have no skills of their own and I consider close to worthless. Also, a common rumor is that I had a relationship with one of my female guards named Sundoro. I do not understand the rumors and if I had a relationship, it was just because I was lonely and needed someone who was my friend and was loyal.
